The undisputed ‘King’ of the espionage thriller, is back!
John le Carre, who actively shuns all publicity, interviews and appearances, will be making a rare personal appearance, to sign a limited number of copies of his new book: ‘Our Kind Of Traitor’, at Waterstones, Piccadilly, London.
This event is free and will take place on Thursday 16th September 2010 at 5pm, to coincide with the release date of the book. However access to the queue is on a first come, first served basis, so be sure to arrive early to get your place for this rare opportunity. Go to Waterstones events page for further details.
Britain is in the depths of recession. A left-leaning young Oxford academic and his barrister girlfriend take an off-peak holiday on the Caribbean island of Antigua.
By seeming chance they bump into a Russian millionaire called Dima who owns a peninsula and a diamond-encrusted gold watch. He also has a tattoo on his right thumb, and wants a game of tennis.
What else he wants propels the young lovers on a tortuous journey through Paris to a safe house in the Swiss Alps, to the murkiest cloisters of the City of London and its unholy alliance with Britain’s Intelligence Establishment.
