I can’t believe, that what I thought would be the occasional post about authors that are local to me, has turned into a steady stream of candidates, waiting for their turn.
This time it’s the chance for all you chic-lit fans out there…..
Mandy Baggot was born, raised and still lives nearby to the beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury, Wiltshire, in the picturesque Woodford Valley, to be exact.
Mandy has been a voracious writer since childhood and has had success with two published novels to date.
Her break came when her first novel was published under an initiative, which was established with Arts Council funding, called YouWriteOn, which is there to help new and hitherto unpublished authors get their books to marketplace, and she hasn’t looked back since.
As well as becoming a successful author, she is also a full time wife and mother, to her husband and two daughters, as well as working part time as a paralegal (for all of you whou would need to look this up, as I did!), specialising in probate.
Mandy will be signing copies of ‘Breaking The Ice‘, her latest novel, at Waterstones in Salisbury, on Saturday 4th September 2010.
When routine driven box office assistant Samantha Smith meets the stars of ‘Skating on Broadway’ her life is turned upside down. Immediately attracted to lead skater Jimmy Lloyd, Samantha does her best to deny her feelings. But when all you can do is burst out laughing and hyperventilate every time you’re under pressure, keeping things under wraps is a hard task. When the future of her beloved Civic Hall is threatened Samantha must rise to the challenge to ensure its survival. Constantly scrutinised and criticised by her zany sister Cleo and her brogue wearing boyfriend Jeremy, can Samantha save her job, save the Civic Hall and stop her panic attacks just long enough to give away her heart?
