Fiction – “A literary work based on the imagination and not necessarily on fact.”
I live in Somerset, UK with my husband and a steadily growing mountain of books, which threatens to engulf us at the earliest opportunity. It really is quite fortuitous that many of my latest acquisitions are E-books, which will ease the groaning shelves just a little.
My ‘To Be Read’ pile, is a steadily growing mountain that I doubt I will ever see the bottom of, but I can’t bear to part with a book until I have read it, which is why I generally only ever read a book once, no matter how good it may be. There are just too many new titles and authors to discover.
I can’t remember a time, even as a child, when I haven’t been passionate about books and reading, with the written word playing a defining and influential part of my life. These days I don’t get nearly as much free time as I would like to bury myself in a good book, however those few snatched moments during the day are much coveted and cherished.
My collection is mostly, but not exclusively, fiction, from a completely diverse range of genres and authors, although I must admit that I am never very excited by fantasy or science fiction stories.
My choices are not always from the bestseller list, neither are they always current releases, but I own a lot of older books which I still consider to be well worth the read.
I began blogging, when I realised just how many other people out there shared my passion for the written word and I have been continually amazed at the wealth of books that are available and the amount of great new friends I have made, from literally the four corners of the world.
I post honest reviews of the books that I read, and make every effort to ensure I communicate clearly why I did or didn’t like a book, whilst being sure to make clear that my views and comments are strictly my own personal opinion. I realise that writing a review can be almost subjective by nature, but I am also conscious that reviews are defining for many authors when gauging the success of their books.
I also can’t apologise for being something of an information junkie, so links are quite important to me, although I aim never to take a visitor away from the site, so they shouldn’t become too intrusive or annoying for those of you in a hurry to read and go! – although I would of course rather that you lingered and shared some of my latest ‘finds’.
I may occasionally accept free promotional or advance reader copies of books, but all reviews will be my honest opinion and not influenced by the source of the book. Any book which has been received without charge or for promotion from an author, publicist, or publisher, will be stated as such in the review and I am not in any way monetarily compensated for any promotional articles that I choose to write.
The most important thing of all, is that I love to engage with my fellow reading addicts, and the receiving and leaving of comments feeds my soul, so please visit often, you will always be welcome 🙂

Yvonne,
What a beautiful website with so much relevant information! I’m so glad you told me about it. If you don’t mind I’d like to pass on your website to other book worms I know!
Will visit often!

Hi Rachel,
Thanks for stopping by, it was good to have you visit and I thank you for, and appreciate, your lovely comment.
I don’t get as much time to work on the blog as I would really like, but I do aim to keep it updated regularly and feature some of the latest books to hit the shelves, so I hope that you will always find something of interest to check out.
I hope to speak with you very soon 🙂
Dear Yvonne,
I’d love to send you my latest novel – are you able to review do you think?
My website is very out of date and about to be updated when I have a moment. I am very active though on Instagram!
Thank you
Josie
Hi Josie,
Good to ‘meet’ you and thanks for stopping by.
Your website looks fine to me and although I am fairly active on Twitter and Goodreads, I have still to be initiated into the dark secrets of Facebook and Instagram – maybe one day!
Due to the large volumes of promotional posts and Blog Tours I undertake for various authors, publishers and publicists, I generally get left behind in any new series I begin to follow, so I have decided to read the ‘Jemima Fox’ books from the beginning and review them as I go, if that’s okay with you?
Also, so as not to cause any possible conflict of interest, I have purchased Kindle downloads of your books from Amazon, but thank you so much for the offer of a complimentary copy of ‘The Monte Carlo Connection’, it was very thoughtful of you.
Would it be okay for me to use selected details and the photo from your ‘About’ page, to use for my author profile section of the posts I publish? Alternatively, if you would like me to use any other bio you can provide, then just send it across and I will work with it.
Also, if at any time, you would like me to publish an author Guest Post, then just forward copy and I will be only too happy to help!
I will copy you in via Twitter on any posts I publish for the books 🙂
Hi Yvonne – I love anything to do with books! did I already invite you to guest blog post on my site? if I did, it bears repeating 🙂 if you’re so inclined, here’s a link to general guidelines:

I do tend to read mostly fiction novels, although I generally love all things book related. An ideal day out for me is to be let loose in a book shop, preferably one with a good café, where I can browse to my hearts content!
Thanks for your kind offer of a guest post spot on your lovely site, but really, I am just not that interesting compared to some of the guests you have featured already, and as I am quite a private person, life on this side of the keyboard suits me just fine!
I really do appreciate your kind thoughts and support 🙂
Hi Yvonne,
I would love to send you my book for an honest review. The Book of Revelations is women’s fiction and is about a person who is forced to reckon with her past.
Like you, I am a bookworm and will be checking out The German Wife.
Thank you!
