Matt looked at the six people huddled around the conference room table and considered telling them all to just go to Hell. He would then calmly walk out, get into his car, and drive away. He didn’t do it for one simple reason; he was their pastor.
These people depended on him, so did the other 4,800-plus souls that attended the state’s fifth largest Baptist church. Matthew McAllister was their spiritual, emotional and, in many cases, psychological leader….
I ask myself, is Matthew simply having a bad day, or is there a deeper more underlying issue here … perhaps a real conscience of faith problem?
Whatever the scenario, I am pretty certain that his day and the days ahead, probably aren’t going to be much better!
