Liam Fitzwilliam Gasquet stared in amazement at the blooming patch of red, milliseconds before the pain exploded in his arm.
Some trigger-happy idiot had fired in his direction.
Indignation didn’t have time to take root before another bullet kicked the dust at his feet.
Not “trigger-happy”.
Intentional.
-.-
This sounds like a promising great start to the story and definitely has me needing to know more …
Where is Liam that he even suspects that he might be the subject of a ‘trigger-happy’ gunman? …
Who is Liam, that might make him vulnerable to an intentional attack on his life? …
-.-
As usual, so as to avoid too many unwanted spoilers, I have not included a full synopsis of the book in this post. However to find out a little more about the story before deciding whether it is your ‘cup of tea’ or not, you can click on the book image.

‘From Now Until Forever’, is the first part of a new series, ‘The Gasquet Princes’. The author of the series, Sherry Gloag, contacted me with a request to read and review both this and the second book in the series ‘His Chosen Bride’ and as such, both books were a gift and free of charge. These books are both quite short novellas, so should offer a cozy interlude before I start on my next crime thriller. I am looking forward to starting out with them.
This will in no way influence any comments I may express about the book, in any blog article I may post. Any thoughts or comments are my own personal opinion and I am in no way being monetarily compensated for this, or any other article.

UPDATE 19th APRIL 2012
My thoughts about ‘From Now Until Forever’ are now published and available by clicking here.
From the beginning, it doesn’t sound like much of a break from a crime thriller. I hope it gets more romantic and less criminal as it goes on.
Thanks for joining me on Book Beginnings!

Hi Gilion,
I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the first lines of this one, so I am hopeful that it will turn into a romance with a good substantial plot … the best of both worlds, so to speak!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment and enjoy your weekend.
That is certainly written to get your attention. Hope it is as good as the start. Thanks for visiting.
Hi Jo,
It certainly makes you sit up and take notice, doesn’t it? It is either going to be a good story, or just some very clever first lines by the author.
It must be even more difficult to get on a roll with a strong plot, when you are only writing a novella. This is not a genre that I often read, but the few I have been invited to review just lately, have been surprisingly good, so I have great hopes for these.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good weekend.
Great way to hook the reader in right away, as you say… though I didn’t like the first sentence – it was confusing. I had to read it a couple times to figure out what the “red” was. I’d edit that sentence to make it clearer… 🙂
Hi Bonnie,
It was quite a clever use of words by the author, I thought. A good, strong opening, for what I hope is going to be an excellent series.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great weekend.
If I’d read the first lines without seeing the cover, I would have assumed it was a crime thriller!
I hope the rest of the novella is as good at the opening lines 🙂
Hi Nikki,
I guess the cover is a bit of a giveaway, isn’t it? The first lines are certainly different to your average romance though, so I am hoping that the rest of the book lives up to my expectations of a good strong story.
Thanks for stopping by and good to hear from you again, hope that all is well!
🙂 Yvonne, thank you.
Hi Sherry,
No problem, all my books get the same treatment, whether they are review copies, or from my own TBR mountain.
Looking forward to starting on this one, will let you know when the review posts.
