‘Until There Was You’ by Jessica Scott

UNTIL THERE WAS YOU‘ by JESSICA SCOTT

Captain Evan Loehr was having a bad day. Granted, it could have been worse.

It could always be worse. But as he pulled his Stetson out of its carrying case and dusted it off, he contemplated the consequences for blowing off the mandatory fun of tonight’s hail and farewell. He was not in the mood. Not in the least. Not when he was eight weeks out from leaving on his third deployment and was up to his neck in maintenance issues and, well, other issues that he’d never in a million years thought he’d have to deal with as a company commander.

I haven’t curled up with a good, page-turning, sizzling romance, for some time now, so I am really looking forward to this, the next book on my reading pile.

I can’t remember a time, even as a child, when I haven’t been passionate about books and reading.
I began blogging, when I realised just how many other people out there shared my passion for the written word and I have been continually amazed at the wealth of books that are available and the amount of great new friends I have made, from literally 'The Four Corners Of The World'.

  • I agree about the cover. LOL. I enjoy a good sizzling romance from time to time too. No harm in it whatsoever. I have several ‘to be read’ on my Kindle as there are often free downloads available. I also won a Mills and Boon from Elaine at Randon Jottings. If the snow continues for many days I may find myself in a comfy chair enjoying one of my sizzlers.

Hope you’re not snowed in. We have 2 or 3 inches and it’s still coming down out there.

    • Hi Cath,

Snow, snow and more snow, here in Somerset. We are at about 4 inches and counting, here in Frome right now, although I have not ventured outside to measure it personally!!

I am amazed at the number of Mills&Boon books that we sell in the charity shop where I volunteer, so much so, that we have a distinct shortage at the moment.

I have a few free downloads of romantics, on my Kindle also … just for emergencies you understand! There is also another great romantics publisher, Astraea Press, which has special offers and even freebies sometimes.

The author of ‘Until There Was You’, Jessica Scott, is also a serving US army officer and she has written, what sounds like a very emotional true account of her 2009 deployment to Iraq, which I wouldn’t mind checking out sometime, despite my reservations about memoirs.

      Stay safe and warm.

  • This does sound like a good, sizzling romance Yvonne. Happy reading 🙂 We’re in for some very cold weather this upcoming week, so I’ll be snuggling in with a good book and a hot cup of tea myself. Enjoy your weekend!

    • Hi Naida,

The whole of the UK woke to several inches of snow yesterday, that we are just not geared up to cope with, so it was a day indoors for some, or family play time in the snow for many others. There is supposed to be another band of snow dumping on us later today and with sub zero temperatures, the roads are like sheets of glass and impassable in many places. As we live in a small cul de sac, some way from any main road which might have been treated, we are here for the duration and making the most of some ‘down time’!

Have a good weekend and stay safe and warm.
