Meet Lesley Cookman

For any of you avid fans of the ‘Agatha Raisin’ series of stories, by author M.C. Beaton, you will know of the feelings of extreme loss, when the latest book in the series has been purchased and read, and the withdrawal symptoms kick in waiting for the next release.

Well, perhaps this author can more than adaquately fill that void, and give an alternative source of material, to anyone who enjoys; a complex plot with loads of twists and turns, believable yet frequently exaggerated amusing characters, a light fun read and, perhaps most importantly a light sprinkling of dead bodies.

“Murder Imperfect” is the latest title by Lesley Cookman

Synopsis:

The seventh title in the Libby Sarjeant series finds her distracted from involvement with her local pantomime by her friend Harry, who asks her to help a friend of his who has been receiving threatening letters.

At first she believes it to be a simple case of prejudice, but soon Libby uncovers links to particularly nasty crimes in the past, revelations that have catastrophic results.

About The Author:

Lesley Cookman first introduced us to her character Libby Sarjeant, in her book ‘Murder In Steeple Martin’, back in 2006, although she has been writing for as long as she can remember.

Born and brought up in London, she achieved an MA in Creative Writing from The University of Wales. She held down a wide variety of jobs before concentrating on her writing, although she still acts in and directs for her local theatre company, together with her ongoing love of pantomime, which she has also written about How to Write a Pantomime. She now lives by the sea in Kent.

To celebrate the launch of ‘Murder Imperfect‘, Lesley will be holding a book  signing session, Saturday 23rd October 2010, from 11am-1pm, at Cotswold Bookstore, High Street, Moreton In Marsh, Gloucestershire GL56 0AL

This a non ticket event and is free of charge, call 01608 652666 for further details. There will be a special price on all her books on the day.

I can’t remember a time, even as a child, when I haven’t been passionate about books and reading.
I began blogging, when I realised just how many other people out there shared my passion for the written word and I have been continually amazed at the wealth of books that are available and the amount of great new friends I have made, from literally 'The Four Corners Of The World'.
