My teaser lines this week, come from another book from my TBR pile, which has been there for many years and was originally published in 1988.
This romantic saga, set in the Scotland of the 1800’s, comes from the pen of successful and prolific Scottish author … Jessica Stirling

‘Hearts Of Gold’ ..by.. Jessica Stirling Teaser words taken from page 76

—–
“Keir Bolderon found it impossible not to admire a man who had made such a success of things, who, by dint of determined effort, had created a trading empire reputed to be worth in excess of twenty thousand pounds per annum.”
——
“One benefit had accrued from his relationship with Neil McNeil, however, for the old man had put Bolderon in the way of meeting with a certain Mr. Melrose of Perthshire, another ‘investor’, and Mr Melrose had forked out three hundred pounds to become a ‘sleeping’ partner.”

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
1. Grab your current read.
2. Open to a random page.
3. Share two “teaser” sentences, from somewhere on that page.
4. Be careful not to share “spoiler” sentences, that give away too much about the book.
5. Remember to share the title and author too.
6. Head on over to ‘should be reading’ and leave a link to your post, so that others can share it.
Stopping by from TT,
Here’s ours if you get a chance to stop by:

I do like a good saga, and this sounds like it could be exactly that!
My teaser can be found here
Hi Marg,
I am about half way through the book and am enjoying it so far. There are two parallel stories, running side by side, but I am almost at the point where they are going to come together and the sparks are going to start flying.
Hi to Karen and Gerard,
Thanks for stopping by, it’s always nice to meet new people.
Great teasers 🙂 Happy New Year! You can find my teaser at The Bookish Snob
Ah, I love a good saga…thanks for sharing.
Here’s mine:

Hi Belinda,
I don’t think the teaser lines actually give too much away this week, but if you don’t like historical sagas, this one is definitely not for you.
Hi Laurel-Rain,
Not sure what the outcome of this saga is going to be yet, but it’s on course to be explosive I think.
Great teasers! Mine comes from a new Swedish crime novel that is being released in the US today: Three Seconds by Roslund and Hellstrom. Here’s the link.
Hello to The Lit Witch,
It was quite easy this week to find teaser lines that give away little or nothing about the plot of the book. Some weeks this can be quite a struggle, especially when they are taken from the same page.
I love the Scandinavian authors, so your recommendation this week, has gone straight to my recommendations list.
Well, that’s one New Year’s resolution out of the window already …. not to buy any new books in 2011, until I have cleared some of my TBR mountain!!
Bolderon sounds like a successful self-made man. I haven’t read a family saga for ages.
Hi Shelley,
I am about half way through the book and as the two separate stories start to converge, Bolderon is becoming key to the plot, as he schemes to turn things to his advantage.
Oh, I love that. lol Heart of Gold by Sterling!
Sincerely,
Emma Michaels

Hi Emma,
Well spotted, I really hadn’t noticed the connection. I think that it is a genuine coincidence, none of her other books carry the same connection, although there is one called ‘Treasures On Earth’.
