Teaser Tuesday – November 2nd 2010

My teaser for this week, comes from the next book on my ‘To Be Read’ pile, which I should hopefully be starting today.

‘The Colour Of Blood’ – A Crime Fiction Book – Author: Declan Hughes

Words from page 171

“The fact Tommy Owens went to great lengths to hide – you could say he’d dedicated his entire life’s work to it’s concealment, if the phrase ‘life’s work’ was one you could fit alongside Tommy with a straight face – was that his mother was a teacher, his family owned their own semi-detached house, and, while his father had drunk himself to death by the age of forty-three, he was an alcoholic civil servant, not some drunken labourer”

“But Tommy always did stuff that seemed guaranteed to backfire, to land him in even greater trouble: when it comes to the various working definitions of a loser, Tommy Owens fitted the bill in this regard: you always felt that, deep down, Tommy wanted to get caught”

Intrigued? I know I am

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

1. Grab your current read.

2. Open to a random page.

3. Share two “teaser” sentences, from somewhere on that page.

4. Be careful not to share “spoiler” sentences, that give away too much about the book.

5. Remember to share the title and author too.

6. Head on over to ‘should be reading’ and leave a link to your post, so that others can share it.

I can’t remember a time, even as a child, when I haven’t been passionate about books and reading.
I began blogging, when I realised just how many other people out there shared my passion for the written word and I have been continually amazed at the wealth of books that are available and the amount of great new friends I have made, from literally 'The Four Corners Of The World'.
