I have these three lovely new books to be added to my shelf this week.
I am still trying to be good and schedule all the books I receive, so as not to increase my toppling TBR pile, and so far it is working, although it’s quite a close call!
As I am NetGalley auto approved by publisher Head of Zeus, I grabbed myself a copy of this book just as soon as it was released

On average 23 people a year disappear from the world’s cruise ships. They are written off as accidents or suicides. But what if they’re not?
Five years ago Martin Schwarz, a police psychologist, lost his wife and son. They were holidaying on a cruise ship when they simply vanished. These are all titles which have yet to be officially published, which is why my Blog Tour dates are well into next year – Yikes!
‘Passenger 23’ is the second Sebastian Fitzek book on my TBR pile for review, as I have still yet to feature ‘The Package’, so I am looking forward to reading them both.

I know that by reading ‘Mystery By The Sea’, I am coming into the Lady Eleanor Swift series at book #5, however these stories sound so much like the cases Agatha Christie would have written for Hercule Poirot, that I am sure I shall be able to read this as a stand alone quite easily and not feel too left behind with the backstory!
I seem to be reading from such a wide variety of genres since I began working alongside the lovely ‘Bookouture’ team, and to be honest, I am really enjoying myself!

Publisher ‘Bookouture’, are an e-publisher and all their titles also come up for request on Netgalley, so if you like the look of any of the three books featured this week, you should be able to check them all out there!
Which is really good and convenient – almost too convenient – as it makes adding books to my TBR pile almost too easy!!
I really do have review dates scheduled for all these, but at least one of them is not fixed, so has the potential for being pushed back a little if I need to!

These all sound very good but it’s Passenger 23 that caught my attention. It had me wondering if the stat about passengers disappearing from cruise ships is true!

I guess this statistic is something I have never given any though to, as I have no interest in cruising. The thought of being out there on all that water for days on end, trapped with people I may not care for or wish to mix with, has no appeal for me in the slightest!
I did try and check out Sebastian’s numbers online, however results seemed to vary between 13 and 30, depending on which site you read. Some are put down to suicide, others to passengers falling overboard, some to people not actually going missing but just not wanting to be found, so I guess not all get included in that ‘disappearing’ statistic!
I have the feeling that this story isn’t simply about ‘disappearing’ people though, it sounds much more sinister if you read the last paragraph of the premise and I am really looking forward to reading it!

You are being good keeping your TBR down. I can’t seem to read fast enough to catch up with mine. I’ve stayed away from Netgalley this year although I have been tempted with so many great suggestions. Enjoy your new reads, they all sound good to me.

I have just started from scratch with any new enquiries or opportunities which come my way. I still have shelves and shelves of physical books all around the house, hundreds in total, and a Kindle with almost 1,000 books on it, none of which I have read!!!
Even under my new regime I am finding that things are beginning to get a bit out of control, as I just can’t say ‘no’ to anyone.
I am also beginning to read from a more varied selection of genres, which is making things more interesting.

Yes! They all sound a little different, so there’s probably nothing much to choose between them, apart from the author’s style of writing and narrative.
I have to say that ‘Mystery By The Sea’ sounds so Agatha Christie in style, that I am quite looking forward to reading that one, but I don’t really mind which order they crop up in.
I have literally just started a cozy mystery, ‘Prove It: Murder In The Mix’ which I think is going to move along at a fair pace and which features a new mum as the amateur sleuth.

There are some excellent ‘period’ traditional murder/ mysteries out there right now, and I want to sample a few of them as part of my next year’s reading plan to mix up my reading genres as much as possible.
You are never going to take the thriller gene out of me though, so both of the other titles are also scheduled into my reading too!
