‘A Bullet For The Ghost Whisperer’
by Stan Schatt

The victim’s handbag lay on the passenger seat. Frankie opened a wallet inside the bag and found a driver’s license for one Gwendolyn Brookhaven. The name rang a bell, but she couldn’t place it.

“Did Gwendolyn have any enemies?” Mr Brookhaven’s lips curled down into a noticeable grimace. “Sometimes, I think the whole world hated her.” “What did she do?” “She’s the top literary agent on the west coast. She rejects hundreds of writers a week, and some of them get very upset about it.”

So as not to show any spoilers I have not included a synopsis, however, you can find out more about the storyline and author by visiting this page.

If you don’t really want to read any major spoilers, then you can tease yourself a little more, by reading the first few lines of the story by visiting this page

Teaser Tuesday Button - A Daily Rhythm

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by … Jenn at ‘A Daily Rhythm’

Anyone can take part, by just doing the following:

Grab your current read.

Open to a random page.

  1. Share a couple of  “teaser” sentences, from somewhere on that page.
  2. Be careful not to share “spoiler” sentences.
  3. Remember to share the title and author too.
  4. Head on over to ‘A Daily Rhythm’ and leave a link to your post, so that others can share it and you can share other people’s.

It would be great if you then decided to leave a comment for Jenn, as we all like to receive them and are interested in sharing your thoughts.

I can’t remember a time, even as a child, when I haven’t been passionate about books and reading.
I began blogging, when I realised just how many other people out there shared my passion for the written word and I have been continually amazed at the wealth of books that are available and the amount of great new friends I have made, from literally 'The Four Corners Of The World'.

  • I like the teasers you’ve chosen to feature here. I can just imagine how unpopular Gwendolyn might be in some circles!

I’m between books at the moment, so I won’t share a teaser this time. My next book is long, though, so I might still be reading it if you join in with this meme next week!

    • Hi Kelly,

There were quite a few good teaser lines within the same Kindle percentage bracket, none of which have Gwendolyne portrayed in a very positive way! This case doesn’t appear to have anything in common with the rest of the storyline just yet, so I’m waiting for the connection to be made! … Great story so far though 🙂

I’m looking forward to discovering what your latest tome is called, although after your last marathon reading session, you are entitled to a short break 🙂

    • Hi Sandra,

I don’t generally read anything to do with the paranormal and probably still wouldn’t commit to a book with the paranormal as its central theme.

However, I have to say, that the mix of the paranormal with the traditional core murder/ mystery format, really does work well for this series and I am only too pleased that I took a punt on author Stan Schatt, when he contacted me.

Multiple crimes and even more suspects, have me turning the virtual pages as fast as I can 🙂

    • Let’s just say that the situation is fatal and I would have thought, rather messy!

I am really enjoying this book so far.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, I apppreciate your comment 🙂

    • Hi Lorraine,

I think that if all literary agents were quite as nasty and given to derisory comments towards authors as Gwendolyn is, then there might be a few more of them meeting ‘unfortunate’ ends!

I’m not sure if Gwendolyn’s demise is linked to the main storyline, however there are several cases all being pursued simultaneously, which keeps the action moving along at quite a pace.

Thanks for taking the time to visit this week, I always appreciate your comments 🙂

    • Hi Naida,

Definitely and possibly, are the answers to your questions 🙂

As you know, I am not normally a huge fan of anything with a paranormal slant to it, however, this series is shaping up very nicely, with just the right combination of genres to keep it interesting and serious enough for a committed crime fan, like myself 🙂

Thanks for visiting this week and I hope that all is well with you 🙂
