If it had, and if they had had a suspicion about it, it would explain the marked change in the atmosphere of the lab. With horror Kim realized that there was a good chance the researchers were responsible for the recent trouble in the neighbourhood blamed on a rabid animal and teenage vandals.
Kim shuddered in revulsion. It was plainly obvious to her that the ultimate cause was Ultra. By taking the drug, the researchers had become “possessed” in a fashion ironically similar to some of the “afflicted” people in 1692.
These musings gave Kim some hope. If what she was thinking were true, then they must revert back to their normal selves come morning, just like in an old Gothic horror movie. All Kim had to do was stay hidden until then.

I looked back at your “First Lines” post and will say that I find these much more exciting. I always enjoy a good thriller and, if I didn’t already have such a massive TBR pile and wish list, I’d add it!

Many of Robin Cook’s books have been adapted for television films, including this one, back in 2001, although I have never seen it.

I can always remember one of Robin Cook’s medical thrillers, ‘Coma’, being made into a feature film back in 1978, starring Michael Douglas, with the screenplay by Micheal Crichton

The film scared me to death and even to this day I don’t like walking the lengthy, dimly lit hospital corridors, we still have in some of our older buildings.

I am amazed that I am struggling so to find anyone who watched the feature film of Robin Cook’s book ‘Coma’. Michael Douglas really creeped me out in the title role and I think that this book is definitely on a par for fear factor. It has made me want to search out some of the other books and re-read them, which is something I seldom ever do!

This paperback has been languishing on my shelves for many years and is one of the rare re-reads for me. It is now set to move on to pastures new once I have finished with it.
I had no idea that following a writing career which began way back in 1972, Robin Cook was such a prolific author and is still regularly turning out his medical thrillers, with another set to hit the shelves later this year.
