‘Must Love Sandwiches’ by Janel Gradowski

Icon Image For The Teaser Tuesdays MemeTeaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by …

MizB of ‘Should Be Reading’.

Anyone can take part, by just doing the following:

Grab your current read.

Open to a random page.

  1. Share a couple of  “teaser” sentences, from somewhere on that page.
  2. Be careful not to share “spoiler” sentences.
  3. Remember to share the title and author too.
  4. Head on over to ‘should be reading’ and leave a link to your post, so that others can share it and you can share other people’s.

It would be great if you then decided to leave a comment for MizB, as we all like to receive them and are interested in sharing your thoughts.

‘MUST LOVE SANDWICHES’ by JANEL GRADOWSKI

So as not to show any spoilers I have not included a synopsis, however, if you want to find out more about the story, just click on the book image, or to read more about both book and author go here.

If you don’t really want to read any major spoilers, then you can tease yourself a little more, by reading the first few lines of the story … here.

Emma took a bite of her own donut. She licked a smear of chocolate icing off her top lip.

There was something wrong about a person obsessed with drawing decaying body parts. Max was probably a card-carrying member of The Future Serial Killers Club of America.

As this was an author invitation to read and review, a complimentary Kindle download of ‘ Must Love Sandwiches’, was gifted to me, by its author Janel Gradowski.

This will in no way influence any comments I may express about the book, in any blog articles I may post. Any thoughts or comments will be my own personal opinion and I am in no way being monetarily compensated for this, or any other article.

I can’t remember a time, even as a child, when I haven’t been passionate about books and reading.
I began blogging, when I realised just how many other people out there shared my passion for the written word and I have been continually amazed at the wealth of books that are available and the amount of great new friends I have made, from literally 'The Four Corners Of The World'.

    • Hi Juli,

Max isn’t just weird, he’s much more of a creep than that and with only one thing on his mind most of the time, should have a ‘Danger To Women’ sign around his neck!

Here in the UK, the icing we have on top of doughnuts, is slightly firmer than that which is used in the many States of the USA we have visited and is therefore described in the story. Nonetheless, the lips always get it and I am finding myself unconsciously licking my lips, as I sit here typing!

Thanks for stopping by to share my teasers and I hope that your day is going well.

    • Hi Sandra,

‘Must Love Sandwiches’ may only be a short story, however if you like your romance light and easy to read, then this is definitely one or you. More importantly, it is packed full of great, quick and easy recipe ideas, particularly if you enjoy vegetarian food, or sandwiches. The entire narrative is liberally peppered with new ideas for that quick snack, so you’ll need pen and paper to hand when reading! Freshly baked, chocolate iced doughnuts certainly did it for me as well, although perhaps not as I am writing this, at 05.21am!! Black coffee sounds like much better idea!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week.

  • Chocolate icing? That’s my imagination captured already.

‘Mrs Westerman merely nodded then took up a cloth, wet it, and began calmly to clean the blood away from around the horrid gash in the neck.’

    • Hi Tracy,

Any kind of icing will do for me, although I prefer the traditional icing we have here in the UK, over the softer frosting which seems prevalent throughout much of the US, but I suspect that’s just a case of what I am used to!

I love your teaser lines this week and have added both author and books to my wishlist. My only slight concern, was that when I checked out the synopsis for ‘Instruments Of Darkness’ on GoodReads, it was full of American spelling. I sincerely hope that this is just because GoodReads publishes details of the US version of the book and isn’t a case of yet another English author pandering to a US audience, thus forcing us Brits to read US English. I don’t mind at all, if the author is American, but it is a pet hate of mine when the author is clearly English.

I really want to read the books in this series, so I hope that my fear are unfounded. I hope that you are enjoying the story and thanks for stopping by to comment.

    • Hi Naida,

A great, easy to read, filler story … that’s ‘Must Love Sandwiches’.

No twists and turns here, just a simple little storyline, although a unique and unexpected couple of add-on chapters at the end of the book, finished the whole thing off nicely.

Some excellent ‘foodie’ suggestions smattered throughout the story, so you’ll need your wits about you if you want to take notes, with a couple of recipes actually detailed at the end of the book.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and that second teaser is explained, so nothing too strange there, although the character is as weird as he sounds!
