What Is ‘Teaser Tuesdays’?
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of ‘Should Be Reading’.
Anyone can take part, by just doing the following:
1. Grab your current read.
2. Open to a random page.
3. Share a couple of “teaser” sentences, from somewhere on that page.
4. Be careful not to share “spoiler” sentences, that give away too much about the book.
5. Remember to share the title and author too.
6. Head on over to ‘should be reading’ and leave a link to your post, so that others can share it and you can share other people’s.
It would be great if you then decided to leave a comment, as we all like to receive them and are interested in your thoughts.
-.-
Great teaser. I’ve heard good things about the Alex Rourke series but have never read any of the books. This one sounds like a winner.
Hi Sandra,
I hadn’t come across either the author, or the series before. This must have been a book that I picked up in a charity shop a long time ago, that must have sounded good to me at the time …. just goes to show the state of my TBR mountain that I have only recently unearthed it!!
The book is definitely a winner and I will be on the lookout for the remaining three books which make up the series.
Thanks for stoppoing by, I don’t think we have spoken before, so it is very nice to ‘meet’ you.
Hope that you are having a good week.
I hadn’t heard of this one before. I hear you about the mountains of TBR books. I just keep adding to the collection 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Hi Shelley,
I keep commenting about how big my TBR mountain is becoming, but I’m just the same as yourself … I just keep adding to it and squeezing books into every available little space … my mountain will soon be an erupting volcano if I’m not careful!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
Fake prescription? I’m intrigued! Thanks for visiting My TT!
Hi Jennifer,
The fake prescription is quite an important part of the plot, at least it is for poor Alex … that’s all I can say without giving away a big ‘spoiler’
The book is well worth the read if you like psychological thrillers.
Thanks for the return visit and I hope that you are having a good week.
I hadn’t heard of this one either, but liked the teaser! Thanks for sharing. Here’s mine: http://pamelasbookspot.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/teaser-tuesday-snow-child.html
Hi Pamela,
Thanks for stopping by today and I am glad that you liked my teaser lines.
Luckily, they do not give too much away, just enough to set the scene a little.
It is a truly gripping story and quite emotional in a strange way.
Have a good week.
Ah, very tempting excerpts! Thanks for sharing and for now piquing my curiosity….
Here’s MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
Hi Laurel-Rain,
There were a few teaser possibilities on the random page that I opened the book at, and as I hadn’t got that far into it, they piqued my interest too, so now I can’t wait to see where they fit into the overall storyline.
Thanks for visiting today and I hope that you are having a good week.
Sounds good! Going to have to check out this book and author.
My TT – http://mamaknowsbooks.blogspot.com/2012/04/teaser-tuesday-9.html
Hi Shandy,
The author’s website is a little unconventional, as he now writes under the pseudonym of Sean Cregan (John Rickards being his real name) and has switched genres to cyberpunk for his latest two novels.
If you want to know more about the author and the Alex Rourke series of thrillers, then you might find:
http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk (search under author name John Rickards)
the best option.
Thank you for showing an interest in both the book and my teaser lines, your comments are appreciated.
Nice teaser! This is definitely something I’ll have to check out – thank you for sharing! 🙂
Here’s mine:

Hi Amy,
This looks like it will develop into quite a good mini series (there are only four books in total) and I shall definitely be reading the remaining three books, to see just how the character of Alex Rourke grows and matures with time.
Thanks for the interest in today’s post, I really love to receive comments and thoughts about whatever takes your fancy!
Great teaser. This is a new to me book/author but think I might have to check them out.
My teaser is from Enchanted and can be found here
Hi Irish,
They may not be the most outstanding teaser lines, however I was determined to take them from the page I had opened the PDF on and not fish around for a page with some great sounding lines.
I urge you to check out the series of four books, which despite their age (this first book was originally published in 2003), stand the test of time very well, as does the writing style of the author.
Thanks for visiting Fiction Books today, I love it when someone new to me, stops by.
I’ve never heard of this book or series but I’ll add it to my list because I love reading thrillers and suspense.
Here’s my TT: http://tinyurl.com/88tdjja
Hi Maria,
When I stopped by your site, I got the impression that your main reading genre was romance, so it is good to know that you also appreciate a good suspense thriller … and I think that ‘Winter’s End’ is one of the best.
I read an eclectic mix of genres, with science fiction and memoirs, being my least popular styles, although I will never turn down a request to read a book.
Thanks for stopping by today, I love to receive comments and they are all truly appreciated.
Great teaser! love thrillers.
http://tributebooksmama.blogspot.com/2012/04/teaser-tuesday.html
Hi Mary Ann,
There is nothing better than a good thriller, that is well written and orchestrated, and this one is definitely up there with some of my favourites. The plot isn’t fast-paced or very unpredictable, but the psychological tension between hunter and hunted is palpable, especially when it is sometimes difficult to work out which is which.
Thanks for your visit, I always love to read your comments.
Great teaser! Sounds like an interesting book!
Hi Lisa-Marie,
When you open a book at a random page, it can be quite difficult to find sentences that are relevant to the story, yet don’t give away too many spoilers. The urge to use ‘poetic licence’ and turn to another page, is quite hard to overcome!
Definitely a book to grapple with if you are into psychological thrillers.
Thanks very much for stopping by today, your time and trouble is very much appreciated.
Another author I am afraid I have not heard of, there are just too many great reads around these days!
Hi Linda,
I only happened to pick this book from my shelves by chance and knew nothing about it, or the author, until I did some research. It was obviously one of my impulse charity shop buys from some time ago, given the publishing date of 2003. I shall definitely be looking to acquire the remaining three books in the series, as I found this story intriguing and real edge-of-the-seat reading.
As you say, there are just so many great authors and books out there, that I could be making lists for evermore and a day. Responsible, as I am, for the books in the charity shop where I volunteer, you can imagine the temptation placed in front of me on a daily basis. Dave has banned me from buying any more books until I have cleared some from my shelves, although that is unlikely any time soon, looking at the backlog of author review requests I currently have.
My dream would be to live in a library, where every new book published is automatically added, or to own a mansion with my own personal library, where I could sit all day and read. I guess the best I can hope for is a padded cell somewhere, if I keep hoarding books at the rate I am going!!!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope that your week is going well.
Wonderful teaser!
Here is my Teaser
Tuesday: Voices of the Dead by Peter Leonard!
Hi Gautami,
Like yourself, I love a great suspense novel and this one is particularly good. I have already ear-marked the remaining three books in the series, so that I can follow the progress of Alex Rourke.
Your own teaser this week is from another fantastic suspense novel and thanks to your review, another one for my reading list. At least Peter’s books aren’t part of a series, but stand alone novels, so I don’t need to read them all together.
Thanks for stopping by with your link, I had an enjoyable few minutes checking it out.
Hello! Thanks for dropping by my blog!
Intriguing teaser.
No problem and thanks for the return visit.
I love finding new people to chat with, I love your site, so I shall be back to visit often.
Like the music slot you also have on Tuesday’s and shall be interested in where you take us after 10cc and my trip down memory lane!
‘Winter’s End’ is shaping up into a fantastic read and I am almost up to the teaser line page I used, so even I will get to know what they mean soon!
